Reporters learned from the National Bureau of Disease Control and Prevention on the 5th that nine departments including the National Bureau of Disease Control and Prevention jointly released the National tuberculosis Prevention and Control Plan (2024-2030), which deployed to comprehensively strengthen tuberculosis prevention and control in China. Tuberculosis is a major infectious disease that seriously endangers people's health. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the epidemic situation of tuberculosis in China has shown a steady downward trend, with the incidence rate and mortality rate both falling by about 30%, and the successful treatment rate remaining above 90%... The data released in the planning shows that in recent years, China has achieved positive results in tuberculosis prevention and control. However, the epidemic situation of tuberculosis is still serious, and the prevention and control work in the new era cannot be slackened. The plan is clear, and we must adhere to the mechanism of Party leadership, departmental cooperation, social mobilization, and public participation. We must adhere to the principles of prevention first, prevention and control combined, adapting measures to local conditions, and highlighting key points, continuously optimize prevention and control strategies and measures, and continuously improve the level of prevention and control. The overall goal is to continuously reduce the incidence rate of tuberculosis throughout the country, keep the mortality rate at a low level, and gradually reduce the economic burden of tuberculosis patients, laying a solid foundation for ending the tuberculosis epidemic. The plan also proposes 18 specific measures from six aspects, including optimizing the service system, improving service quality, strengthening proactive screening, enhancing detection level, standardizing treatment management, improving treatment effectiveness, strengthening prevention measures, reducing incidence and transmission, strengthening policy assistance, reducing patients' economic burden, strengthening social mobilization, and conducting extensive publicity. The requirements for prevention and control work are put forward from the entire process of "prevention, treatment, and management". According to the deployment, each region should organize monitoring and evaluation of the implementation of local planning, and use the monitoring and evaluation results and work improvement as important basis for financial investment, medical insurance payment, and evaluation of medical and health institutions.
