The first team of 132 officers and soldiers from the 15th batch of Chinese peacekeeping engineering units to South Sudan (Wau) departed from Xinzheng International Airport in the early morning of December 4th and went to the South Sudan (Wau) mission area to carry out a one-year peacekeeping mission. The 15th batch of Chinese peacekeeping engineering units to South Sudan (Wau) was formed by drawing on a certain brigade of the 83rd Army Group. The team is mainly responsible for building roads, bridges, airports, constructing and maintaining simple barracks and protective shelters, constructing water and power supply facilities, and providing engineering support for peacekeeping forces in the mission area. After receiving the task, the engineering team revised and improved the emergency response plan in response to the complex and changing security situation in South Sudan, and conducted targeted training, effectively improving their professional competence and emergency response capabilities in carrying out peacekeeping missions, and successfully passing the superior assessment. It is reported that the engineering team was divided into two tiers and flew to South Sudan by special plane on December 4th and 18th, to rotate with the 14th batch of peacekeeping engineering teams going abroad to South Sudan (Wau).
