The "Spring Festival - Chinese Social Practice in Celebrating the Traditional New Year" declared by China passed the review at the 19th ordinary session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO in Asuncion, Paraguay, on the 4th, and was included in the UNESCO Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. So far, a total of 44 projects in China have been included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List and Register, ranking first in the world in terms of total number. The Spring Festival is the most profound, rich in content, widely participated in, and influential traditional Chinese festival. Before and after the Spring Festival, Chinese people around the world celebrate this festival around the themes of bidding farewell to the old and welcoming the new, praying for blessings and good fortune, and reunion and harmony.
