Today's event demonstrates the SAR government's determination to lead all sectors of society and the market to jointly develop the vision of the northern metropolitan area. I believe that through the joint efforts of all sectors, more substantial investments and projects with economic and social benefits will be achieved, and the vision of Beidou will be jointly realized. Zheng Yanxiong, Director of the Liaison Office of the Central Government in Hong Kong, stated in his speech that the development of the northern metropolitan area is a major action for Hong Kong's innovative development, a key point for economic growth and innovation breakthroughs, and a key move for Hong Kong to deeply participate in the construction of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area and better integrate into the overall development of the country. The government of the Special Administrative Region has made great efforts and good moves. The definition of Hong Kong's industry and commerce can inspire the spirit, work hard, and invest wholeheartedly, seize the major opportunity of the development of the northern metropolitan areas, and jointly open up a new world for Hong Kong's development. Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited signed intention to cooperate agreements with 9 companies on the same day, with an intention to cooperate amount exceeding HKD 20 billion. The Vice President of the company, Wang Huabin, stated that as the largest Chinese bank in Hong Kong, the company will firmly support and implement the strategic requirements of the central government to continuously consolidate and enhance Hong Kong's position as an international financial center, cooperate with the SAR government to increase investment attraction efforts in the northern metropolitan area, and provide high-quality financial services for investment and development in the northern metropolitan area. Huang Yongguang, Vice Chairman of Xinhe Group, stated that through on-site inspections, the Hong Kong business community has gained a deeper understanding of the northern metropolitan area and seen a very comprehensive development blueprint. The development of the northern metropolitan area is far sighted and has enormous potential. The group is full of confidence in this and the Hong Kong economy, and will fully support it. The new policy address proposes to pilot the "district development" model and accelerate the construction of the northern metropolitan area. On that day, the SAR government announced the details of the relevant pilot program. The three pilot projects for "zone development" all have three types of land: private residential, industrial, and public facilities. Starting next month, a three-month market intention survey will be conducted, with the goal of gradually launching bidding work between 2025 and 2026. (New Society)
