The 28th Chairman's Meeting of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference was held in Beijing on the 27th. Wang Huning, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, presided over and delivered a speech.
The meeting conveyed the spirit of studying and implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping's recent important speeches and instructions.   We must deeply study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important discourse on the construction of a digital China, and organize CPPCC members to conduct in-depth consultations and discussions on politics around the new situation and requirements of the construction of a digital China in the new era and the development of the internet and information industry, in order to continuously promote the construction of a digital CPPCC. We must deeply study and implement the important instructions made by General Secretary Xi Jinping on social work, strengthen the analysis and judgment of major issues in social work, and effectively play the unique role of CPPCC consultation in promoting social governance.
The meeting listened to a report on the supervision of key proposals from the second session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and reviewed in writing the report on the democratic supervision work of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference in 2024. Wang Huning stated that we must adhere to and strengthen the Party's leadership over proposal work, based on improving the quality of proposals, and better play the role of proposals in reflecting social conditions and public opinion, promoting scientific and democratic decision-making, and widely consolidating consensus. To organize and carry out democratic supervision work, grasp the positioning of consultative supervision, and focus on conducting democratic supervision around the implementation of major policies and reform measures of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.
The meeting will review in writing the report of the General Office of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference on the organization and implementation of consultation and political discussion activities, inspection and study of members of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, investigation and research work, theoretical research work, member reading activities, and reflection of social and public opinion information work in 2024.
The meeting approved the decision to revoke Zhao Jinyun's membership in the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and requested the 10th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference to ratify it.
The Chairman's Meeting held the fourth collective learning session in 2024, with the theme of "Achievements and Implications of China's Aerospace Industry Development". Wu Weiren, member of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and chief designer of China's lunar exploration project, was invited to give a report.
Vice Chairmen of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, Chen Wu, Mu Hong, He Baoxiang, and Wang Guangqian, delivered speeches on the study and implementation of General Secretary Xi Jinping's recent important speeches and instructions.
