On the 26th, the Secretary for Culture, Sports and Tourism of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Yang Runxiong, announced the "Blueprint for the Development of Literary and Creative Industries" (hereinafter referred to as the Blueprint), further consolidating Hong Kong's position as a center for cultural and artistic exchanges between China and foreign countries. Yang Runxiong stated that the blueprint is a comprehensive policy document by the SAR government that covers the long-term development of cultural, artistic, and creative industries. It outlines a clear vision for promoting future development, formulates principles and development directions, strengthens Hong Kong's cultural influence, enhances citizens' sense of gain and happiness, further consolidates Hong Kong's position as a center for cultural and artistic exchanges between China and foreign countries, and establishes a diverse cultural atmosphere. The blueprint proposes a total of 71 measures in four development directions. The development direction includes promoting excellent traditional Chinese culture and developing the cultural connotations of Hong Kong's unique features; Developing diverse and international cultural and artistic industries; Establish an international platform to promote cultural and artistic exchanges between China and foreign countries; Improve the ecosystem of cultural and creative industries. It is reported that the blueprint is the starting point for continuing to promote work on the existing foundation. The SAR government will maintain close communication with the industry with an open attitude, review the priority and implementation plans of various development directions and measures, and actively and pragmatically promote the long-term development of cultural, artistic, and creative industries.
