2024-11-27
Luban culture is a precious treasure of the Chinese nation, and the spirit of craftsmanship is an important spiritual force in the new era. In recent years, as the hometown of Lu Ban, Qufu in Shandong Province has relied on its rich historical and cultural resources to tell the "Lu Ban story" and inherit the spirit of craftsmanship through cultural activities, expanding practical positions, and enriching study courses. On June 16th every year, the Lu Ban Cultural Festival in Qufu, China is held as scheduled, where the descendants of the "Ban Men" and people from all walks of life jointly worship the "Saint of Works" Lu Ban. After the death of Lu Ban, various forms of commemorative activities will be held in his hometown Qufu on his birthday, and the location is mostly in his ancestral temple. On June 16, 2006, Qufu held a 20 day China Qufu Qiaosheng Luban Cultural Exhibition and the first Luban Cultural Festival, attracting over 30000 visitors, including friends from France, Egypt, and the European Union Qufu Studio representative Pafu. Up to now, the Qufu Luban Cultural Festival in China has been successfully held for 19 consecutive sessions. During the Luban Cultural Festival, a series of activities were also held, including the "Luban Cup" Ancient Architecture Skills Competition, the Craftsmanship Spirit and Traditional Culture Forum, the Historical and Cultural City and Urban Renewal Seminar, the Luban Culture and Quality Strong Country Seminar, the Luban Temple Protection Seminar at home and abroad, the Craftsmanship Spirit Lecture Hall, and the Experience of Confucius Culture and Ancestral Culture, to promote excellent traditional Chinese culture. Every Friday afternoon, during the club craft class at Shuyuan Street Primary School in Lucheng Street, teachers bring traditional handmade crafts such as intangible cultural heritage clay sculpture, ancient architecture painting, and silk flowers to children, exploring local traditional culture and folk craft history, and integrating cultural characteristics into the curriculum. In the "Lu Yi Fang" themed exhibition hall of the school, the rich traditional cultural heritage of Qufu and student imitations of experiential works mainly focusing on the ancient social life of the Confucian Mansion are showcased. We use forms such as learning exhibitions and production experiences to help students understand and recognize the spirit of Lu Ban from an early age, and encourage them to inherit and carry forward the spirit of Lu Ban craftsmen Kong Fang, the principal of Shuyuan Street Primary School, said. Qufu has widely carried out the project of introducing excellent traditional Chinese culture into schools. Almost all primary and secondary schools and kindergartens in Qufu have traditional handicraft courses, and practical activities rich in local cultural characteristics such as woodworking and regular carving are regularly carried out. Outside of school, research and practice bases are established in scenic spots, educational institutions, and new era civilization practice stations, allowing children to understand the spirit of craftsmanship and dedication through hands-on operation. Not long ago, teachers and students from the Portuguese "Lu Ban Workshop" visited Lu Ban's hometown garden in Qufu and tasted the 28 character Lu Ban craftsman spirit repeatedly, saying, "Patriotic dedication, independent innovation, upholding morality and rules, persistent focus, excellence, meticulousness, and pursuit of excellence. Nowadays, the "Luban Workshop" brand has taken root in 29 countries, and the inheritance and innovation of Luban culture have spread from China to the world. Every year, Qufu also holds large-scale cultural events such as the Luban Craftsmanship Spirit Forum, inviting domestic and foreign experts, scholars, master craftsmen, entrepreneurs and other people from all walks of life to participate and expand the international influence of Luban culture. As the pioneer of Chinese craftsmen, Lu Ban not only possesses exquisite skills, but also astonishing creative thinking. To promote Luban culture, it is necessary to maintain the ancient core craftsmanship while integrating tradition into new technology. Let the spirit of Luban, which transcends time and space, endure and constantly unleash the charm of the times Luo Yang, a member of the Presidium of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, said.
