On November 26th, the groundbreaking ceremony for the China Mobile Plateau Big Data Center (Phase II) project was held in Haidong City, Qinghai Province. The China Mobile Plateau Big Data Center, which was put into operation in December 2015, is the first large-scale cloud computing data center on the Qinghai Tibet Plateau. Now, the data center will be upgraded and expanded. It is reported that the China Mobile Plateau Big Data Center (Phase II) has a cumulative investment of about 2 billion yuan, with a focus on building intelligent computing rooms and planning 50000 racks. After completion, the project will have the ability to deploy intelligent computing clusters with a scale of over 10000 cards. Hu Bo, General Manager of China Mobile Communications Group Qinghai Co., Ltd., introduced that the China Mobile Plateau Big Data Center (Phase II) will focus on the research and development of key technologies such as green power traceability certification, heterogeneous computing power and network, artificial intelligence technology and applications, and data security, accelerating the incubation of new computing power application scenarios and forming a multi-level industrial ecosystem. It is reported that since China Mobile's Plateau Big Data Center was officially launched nine years ago, it has settled more than 300 customers such as Internet leading enterprises, provided services such as server hosting and data backup for governments, enterprises and institutions at all levels in Qinghai Province, and carried more than 1400 cloud business customers, helping to integrate big data applications in advantageous emerging industries and other fields.
