Europe launches comprehensive defense system for unmanned equipment
2024-11-26
According to foreign media reports, at the 29th European Maritime Defense Exhibition, the European Missile Group showcased a new type of integrated defense system for maritime unmanned equipment - the "Ocean Guardian", which is used to counter aerial drones and surface unmanned boats and protect the safety of naval vessels. The European Missile Group stated that the "Ocean Guardian" is currently the only comprehensive defense system capable of simultaneously countering both airborne drones and surface unmanned vessels. It is reported that the "Ocean Guardian" is a combination of various advanced sensors and effectors based on the "Sky Guardian" anti unmanned system solution of the European Missile Group. Sensors include radar, passive RF, and electro-optical cameras, which can identify and classify potential threats; The effectors include directed energy laser weapons, jammers, and interception drones. In addition, to cope with greater threats, the system also integrates the third-generation "Northwest Wind" air defense missile. The 'Ocean Guardian' adopts an open architecture that can operate independently or be integrated into shipborne combat systems, and can be deployed on multiple types of maritime combat platforms. This system provides comprehensive protection for naval vessels by detecting, tracking, and suppressing small and medium-sized aerial drones and surface unmanned boats. (New Society)
