The General Office of the People's Government of Hainan Province recently issued the "Work Plan for Creating a Demonstration Zone for Nighttime Culture and Tourism Consumption Agglomeration in Hainan Province" (hereinafter referred to as the "Plan"), which will adhere to the principles of market leadership, government guidance, benchmarking against the international community, and inclusiveness and diversity. It will focus on relying on three prefecture level cities, Haikou, Sanya, and Danzhou, and use two years to build a demonstration zone for night time culture and tourism consumption agglomeration, lighting up a new "night" state of cultural and tourism development with night economy, and comprehensively assisting in the construction of Hainan International Tourism Consumption Center. In recent years, Hainan has continued to make efforts in top-level design research, infrastructure construction, and actively building a nighttime economic brand. As of now, Hainan has successfully created 6 national level nighttime cultural and tourism consumption clusters, including 3 in Sanya, 2 in Haikou, and 1 in Lingshui. According to the plan, Hainan will select six areas in Haikou, Sanya, and Danzhou as the core for the creation of nighttime cultural and tourism consumption agglomeration demonstration zones, including the banks of the Dianhe River and the Fucheng area along the coast of Haikou, the Dadonghai Luhuitou Sanya Bay, Lizhigou area, Haitang Bay in Sanya, and Haihua Island in Danzhou. Based on actual conditions, other cities and counties will create a core area for nighttime culture and tourism consumption aggregation in their own cities and counties. The relevant person in charge of the Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports Department of Hainan Province stated that the introduction and implementation of the "Plan" will further promote the upgrading of cultural and tourism consumption in the province, enhance the level of nighttime economic development, and drive consumption growth.
