Ding Xuexiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council, attended the opening ceremony of the 2024 World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit in Wuzhen, Zhejiang on the morning of the 20th and delivered a keynote speech.
Ding Xuexiang stated that President Xi Jinping's video congratulatory message fully reflects the high importance attached to the Wuzhen Summit of the World Internet Conference. China has taken the development of the Internet as a major opportunity to promote reform, opening up and socialist modernization. It has actively used and vigorously developed the Internet, and has made major strides in building a network power and a digital China. China insists on sharing the development opportunities of Chinese path to modernization with other countries, and jointly leads the direction of digitalization, networking and intelligence, which has injected strong impetus into the world's modernization.
Ding Xuexiang stressed that the current Internet, big data, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, blockchain and other technologies are constantly making breakthroughs and are comprehensively enabling economic and social development, but the digital divide is still widening, and the network security situation is more serious. The international community needs to join hands more than ever to promote the construction of a community with a shared future in cyberspace towards a new stage and build a better 'digital future'. He put forward four suggestions: firstly, to improve global governance and achieve a shared destiny in cyberspace. Adhere to true multilateralism, respect the cyber sovereignty of all countries, and build a more fair, reasonable, open, inclusive, secure, stable, and vibrant cyberspace. The second is to strengthen collaborative innovation and promote the accelerated development of network information technology. Actively expanding cooperation in fields such as artificial intelligence, big data, and blockchain, promoting joint research and cutting-edge technology breakthroughs, and unleashing the vitality of digital technology innovation and continuous emergence of innovative achievements in countries around the world. Third, we will strengthen fairness and inclusiveness, and promote global sharing of the fruits of Internet development. Help developing countries actively promote informatization, deepen cooperation in digital talent training, strengthen the promotion and application of information technology in key areas of people's livelihood, and make digital achievements better benefit people of all countries. The fourth is to adhere to the rule of law and regulations, and enhance the level of network security protection. Deepen cooperation in cyberspace security, strengthen technology for good, and properly respond to rule conflicts, social risks, and ethical challenges brought about by the development of artificial intelligence and other technologies.
Vice President Florentino of Honduras, Vice President Nalumango of Zambia, and Deputy Prime Minister Le Chan of Vietnam attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches successively.
After the opening ceremony, Ding Xuexiang inspected the Wuzhen "Light of the Internet" Expo and the Wuzhen World Internet Science and Technology Museum, and interacted with the heads of exhibitors.
