Tianhe supercomputer wins the crown in the field of world map computing

2024-11-21

On the 20th, it was learned from the National Supercomputing Tianjin Center that the "Tianhe" new generation supercomputer system, developed by the National University of Defense Technology and deployed at the center, has won the world's first place on the Big Data Green Graph500 (Big Data Green Graph500) list with a performance of 6320.24 MTEPS/W in the latest international Graph500 ranking. This is not the first time that Tianhe Supercomputing has won the championship in this field. In the international Graph500 ranking released in July 2021, "Tianhe" supercomputer won this honor. The Graph500 ranking was first released in 2010 and is the most authoritative international ranking for evaluating the graph computing performance of supercomputers. It mainly targets popular data intensive applications such as artificial intelligence and big data processing, and can fully reflect the memory access and communication performance of supercomputers, directly reflecting their data processing capabilities. Graph computing is a data processing and analysis method centered around graph structures, which is an important tool for studying complex networks, association patterns, and structured data. With the increasing demand for large-scale data analysis, graph computing is becoming an important pillar of big data and artificial intelligence, and is another research hotspot for governments, research institutions, and technology companies around the world. Relying on the new generation of "Tianhe" supercomputer system, the National Supercomputing Center in Tianjin has made first-class academic achievements in scientific research fields such as numerical simulation technology, material calculation, environmental meteorology, etc. in recent years, and has also achieved major technological breakthroughs in industrial fields such as super intelligence integration, generative large models, supercomputing Internet, etc. Meng Xiangfei, Secretary of the Party Group and Chief Scientist of the National Supercomputing Tianjin Center, stated that the achievement of winning the world championship not only marks an international breakthrough in the ability of Tianhe Supercomputing to handle complex data analysis tasks, but also provides important support for promoting the development of new generation intelligent technology. The National Supercomputing Tianjin Center, located in the Binhai New Area of Tianjin, is the location of China's first quadrillion supercomputing "Tianhe-1" deployment, as well as the deployment of the "Tianhe" next-generation supercomputer system.
