After a year and eight days of continuous walking, the "Fly Up, Gao Kaitong's Poetry Enters Famous Schools" campaign of the Chinese Poetry Society's New Era Poetry Torch Relay has recently come to an end. How to sow the seeds of poetry into the hearts of children? The seeds of poetry on campus have taken root and sprouted. When it comes to poetry, many people spontaneously talk about the "golden age of poetry" - the 1980s. At that time, the popularity of poetry on campus and in society was no less than that of today's concerts. After the 1980s, poetry lost its glory on campus. How is poetry developing on campus nowadays? From my observation, outside of the curriculum, poetry mainly exists in small-scale interest groups and poetry societies on campus. For example, some teachers are poets themselves, and they take their children to read and write poetry based on their personal hobbies, insisting on poetry education Xu Zhi, the editor in chief of "Chinese Campus Literature", believes that the spark of poetry on campus has always been there, and in recent years, some textbooks have added more space for poetry, and the middle and high school entrance exams have begun to involve poetry writing, which are all positive signals. Two years ago, at the award ceremony of the "Chinese Literature Festival · Lu Xun Literature Award Night," a group of "little poets" from Su Yu Hope Primary School in Huitong County, Huaihua, Hunan Province, brought surprise and emotion to countless people. A teacher born in 1995 brought poetry into the classroom, and the children's poetic journey began. With just a flame and an opportunity, the poetic experience in their hearts will ignite the flame of life Associate Professor Jing Lipeng from the School of Literature at Hebei Normal University believes that sowing the seeds of poetry into children's hearts is not a strong implantation of ideas and knowledge, but a call, a revelation, and a possibility of turning stone into gold. On a large scale, poetry shapes the character of the Chinese nation and is a cultural symbol of a nation. From a small perspective, poetry can cultivate virtue, enlighten wisdom, nurture beauty, and convey emotions. The ultimate goal of children's poetry art is to gain a direct insight and profound understanding of the true essence of childhood life. He believes that good poetry works and good poetry teaching can open up a wonderful world of literary language for children, allowing them to experience the unique fun of poetic expression. "Poetry reading and teaching, parents and teachers must put children's interests first, ultimately to strengthen, enhance, and deepen this inner interest.
