2024-11-12

The "Tangxu Goes to the Human World - Yuan Kewen's Diary Home Exhibition" will be held in Tianjin from the 11th to the 12th. As the only known surviving manuscript of Yuan Kewen's diary, "Han Yun Diary" has "reappeared in the human world" after disappearing for several years. Yuan Kewen (1890-1931) was the second son of Yuan Shikai. During the Republic of China, he was known as one of the "Four Young Masters" along with Zhang Xueliang, Zhang Boju, and Pu Dong. Hanyun, also known as Hanyun Master, is the nickname of Yuan Kewen. He is not fond of political affairs and has great expertise in various fields such as poetry, couplets, music, chess, calligraphy and painting, cultural relic appreciation, Kunqu opera, and Peking opera. In modern Chinese history, Yuan Kewen's literary achievements were the first to attract attention, and "Han Yun Diary" has historical value. The "Xiling Edition" of "Cold Cloud Diary" showcased this time records the glorious period of Yuan Kewen's life in Shanghai, Tianjin, and Beijing, covering various aspects such as opera, collection, love, poetry, and more. It records the social interactions between the Yuan family and over 230 teachers, friends, relatives, and gang members from the Republic of China. It includes 33 collection notes, over 30 poems, and literary creation records, as well as 23 (group) rubbings of collectibles such as coins, bronze ware, and stationery (according to the diary, the layout is left blank, and 9 rubbings of collectibles have been lost). It is reported that so far, only two Republic of China photocopies of the "Han Yun Diary" have been found to have physical copies, but the original manuscript remains missing. The "Xiling edition" is the third edition, which can be referenced in writing, content, form, and paper with the "Han Yun Diary" published in the Republic of China era. Moreover, this edition predates the photocopy and is the largest and most important handwritten work by Yuan Kewen in the market, filling the research gap. In this' Cold Cloud Diary ', there is a part called' Northbound Diary ', which was written by Yuan Kewen when he returned to Tianjin in the autumn of 1923. After a century, also in autumn, we returned to Tianjin with Yuan Kewen's diary, which can be considered a wonderful fate The relevant person in charge of the event organizer said, "We hope to take this opportunity to awaken the memory of Yuan Kewen among Tianjin people, and at the same time explore some buried things." This exhibition is jointly organized by Xilin Seal Engravers Auction Co., Ltd. and Tianjin Political Consultative Conference Club. (New Society)
