On the basis of soliciting opinions and suggestions from multiple parties, June 28th (the start date of the construction of the Flood Control Victory Memorial Tower) has been designated as Harbin National Historical and Cultural City Protection Day. During the Protection Day, Harbin City will continue to expand the influence of its historical and cultural city through activities such as art exhibitions, photography exhibitions, academic forums, and design competitions, shaping high-quality cultural IP for the city and supporting the high-quality development of the cultural and tourism industry. It is reported that in recent years, the Harbin Municipal Party Committee has attached great importance to the protection and inheritance of historical and cultural buildings. It has basically established a complete protection system for one national historical and cultural city, three historical urban areas, 16 historical and cultural blocks, 9 historical and cultural style areas, 20 historical green spaces, 958 cultural relics protection units at all levels, general cultural relics buildings (structures), and 303 historical buildings.
