The "Hong Kong Museum Festival 2024" organized by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government was unveiled on the 2nd in Tsim Sha Tsui. This year's Museum Festival has launched over 70 exciting programs, hoping that audiences can experience Hong Kong's rich and unique cultural history and artistic landscape, and experience a diverse museum journey. At the opening event of the "BinFun Museum Carnival" held on that day, the Director of Leisure and Cultural Services of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, Liu Mingguang, delivered a speech stating that the Hong Kong Museum Festival has entered its 10th year this year and has been widely welcomed by the public. The carnival focuses on "Chinese culture" and collaborates with different museums and art spaces through opening programs, allowing citizens to explore the profoundness of traditional Chinese culture and work together to promote the development and inheritance of Chinese culture and historical traditions. At the carnival event, the "Flower Button Exhibition Art" demonstration and workshop, the "Kiss Lion Dance" interactive booth, and the "Lion Head Pendant" workshop booth of the Intangible Cultural Heritage Office under the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government were all very lively. Citizens competed to take photos of the lion head and "clock in", trying to dance the lion head and make lion dance accessories, experiencing this intangible cultural heritage project that combines martial arts and performing arts. The booth of the Cultural Heritage Restoration Office under the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government also attracted many visitors to stop and experience firsthand the use of wax materials to protect different types of cultural relics, or to try making light clay cake model magnets with wooden cake molds. Many children gathered around the booth of the "Curiosity Nanoworld" outreach activity organized by the Science Promotion Group of the Hong Kong Science Museum, visiting nanoscience introduced in the form of comic illustrations and interactive exhibits. In addition to museums under the Leisure and Cultural Services Department of the Special Administrative Region government, a total of 27 Guangdong Hong Kong Macao partners participated in this year's Hong Kong Museum Festival. The Shenzhen Museum will hold the "Hong Kong Museum Festival 2024" Shenzhen sub venue - "The Beauty of Craftsmanship" series of study activities. Through courses such as wood carving and gold pasting experience, mortise and tenon structure woodworking activity, seal carving experience, etc., the audience, especially young people, will explore the profoundness of traditional Chinese culture together.
