On social and short video platforms, emotional counseling related content is highly regarded, and there are many people seeking emotional counseling services. However, such services also have many problems such as inducing high fees, unclear qualifications, and secretly setting "tyrannical terms". Those who need emotional counseling services should be cautious when purchasing. In the relationship recovery course materials provided by the emotional counselor for Cui Wen, there are some contents: having the ability to love, leftover women "do not worry about marriage"; People with the ability to love "do not give"; A magical sentence pattern that made her husband willing to wash dishes... However, after following the guidance of the counselor and course, Cui Wen was unable to successfully reconcile with her boyfriend. Recently, Cui Wen, who currently resides in Zhejiang, complained to reporters that after breaking up with her boyfriend in September this year, she watched a live stream on a certain short video platform that taught people how to salvage their relationship. Cui Wen has joined the anchor's fan group, and the staff said that after paying, he can receive consulting services. To salvage the relationship, Cui Wen paid 99 yuan and 2980 yuan to purchase one-on-one communication courses and professional consultant guidance programs. Reporters found that in recent years, emotional counseling related content has received considerable attention on various social and short video platforms, and there are many people like Cui Wen seeking emotional counseling services. However, such services also have many problems such as inducing high fees, unclear qualifications of consultants and institutions, hidden overbearing clauses in contracts, and difficulty in defining service completion. According to Cui Wen, in order to chase after girls and purchase emotional counseling services at a high price, she initially listened to live broadcasts with a relaxed attitude, thinking that she could provide simple free counseling. The anchor she followed did not mention the issue of fees until Cui Wen contacted the staff via private message and found out that she needed to pay 99 yuan to purchase "professional emotional teacher one-on-one detailed communication services". Considering that the cost was not too high, Cui Wen paid the money. However, after understanding Cui Wen's basic situation, the consultant also stated that if one-on-one phone communication and "direction, advice, and ideas to salvage this relationship" are needed, an additional 2980 yuan will be paid to purchase a 15 day guidance plan from a professional consultant. After the purchase, both parties will sign a contract. Cui Wen also needs to fill out the 'Consultant Emotional Counseling Profile', providing information such as her and her ex boyfriend's names, occupations, and locations. Cui Wen told reporters that after spending 2980 yuan to purchase services, she claimed to be a professional consultant who sent three materials, namely "The Five Abilities of Love", "Understanding the Essence of Love and Mastering the Five Languages of Love", and "The Disappointment Period: Why the Perfect Lover Suddenly Changed", for her to self-study. After studying for a period of time, Cui Wen believed that the consulting services provided by the other party did not have a significant effect and requested a refund, but was refused. Cui Wen also said that the content of the information was "very watery". The content of the official account for further study was stopped two years ago. The two telephone consulting services were also unprofessional. The consultants would also affect their emotions and cognition through various scripts. They would say, 'So you're a silly girl who doesn't understand the underlying logic behind your boyfriend's words.' "Cui Wen felt deceived. Liu Chong from Hubei revealed to reporters that in September this year, he spent about 20000 yuan to purchase emotional counseling services, with the aim of getting emotional counselors to help recover girls who failed to confess their love, but was unsuccessful. Later, Liu Chong wanted to terminate the service and apply for a refund, but the other party threatened that if Liu Chong insisted on the refund, they would further damage his relationship with the girl. The so-called "emotional mentors" may not have professional qualifications, and practitioners who claim to provide "professional emotional and psychological counseling services" may not have professional qualifications. The reporter contacted several institutions and bloggers claiming to provide emotional guidance, citing the need to purchase emotional recovery services. When requesting professional qualification certificates from the other party, some claim to be part-time psychology students, while others provide qualification certificates such as "emotional analyst", "psychological counselor", "marriage and family counselor", which are not officially recognized by institutions. A fraud case previously disclosed by Wuhan police showed that several "emotional mentors" involved were only in their 20s, and their previous occupations were chefs, auto mechanics, etc. Some of them were college students at the time of the incident. In the contract she signed with an emotional counseling agency provided by Cui Wen, the reporter saw that the second party is a certain education consulting service company in Wuhan. But when the reporter searched the company's public information, it was found that its national standard industry is "industrial and professional design and other professional technical services". On some complaint platforms, there are over 10 complaints related to the company's emotional counseling services, such as non refunds and false advertising. The reporter found that there are still some clauses in the emotional counseling service contract that are actually "overbearing clauses". In the contract signed by Cui Wen, it is stated that the company's service content is to "make reasonable efforts to urge Party A to reconcile with their partner", but Cui Wen cannot demand that the company assume breach of contract liability or claim a refund for the failure to achieve the purpose of marriage, family, or romantic relationship. Cui Wen and some interviewees believe that this clause is clearly unreasonable, "spending money without any effect is equivalent to being a scammer, isn't it. Liu Xin, director of the Medical Law and Ethics Research Center at China University of Political Science and Law, stated in an interview with reporters that there are indeed some irregularities in the field of emotional and psychological counseling services, and some institutions' training or qualification certificates have not been recognized by the state. Liu Xin reminds that since 2017, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security has cancelled the qualification certification for psychological counselors. Currently, there is no officially valid professional qualification certificate, and those who need emotional counseling services should be cautious when purchasing such services. According to Zhu Wei, an associate professor at China University of Political Science and Law, some emotional anchors can seek help through professional mediation institutions. On the one hand, they accumulate wealth by providing emotional counseling services, and on the other hand, they use their personal image to harvest traffic and profit from sales, causing negative social impact. Some emotional anchors have conveyed distorted views on marriage and love through scripts or character designs. For the group of people who hope to recover their relationship through emotional counseling, Professor Lv Houchao from the Department of Psychology at Southwest University has publicly stated: "We should establish a correct view of love and not overly magnify the irrational elements in emotions. Everyone's love is unique, and it varies due to individual experiences and family situations. The so-called emotional recovery in emotional counseling cannot be generalized." "Emotional counseling services are not equivalent to psychological counseling services, and some practitioners do not have professional qualifications and are suspected of fraud." Liu Xin suggested that consumers with relevant needs can contact professional mediation institutions or experienced relatives and friends for help. Professionals remind us to be wary of using free or small fee gimmicks to induce high consumption. Zhu Wei believes that in emotional counseling service contracts, the types of services and other contents should be accurately defined. "If there is a 'bully clause' or other infringement behavior, even if both parties agree to resolve the dispute through arbitration, the consultant can still choose to file a lawsuit to protect their rights and interests
