Approved by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council, the third batch of eight central ecological environment protection inspection teams will be stationed in four provinces including Jiangsu, Anhui, Sichuan, and Guizhou from October 18 to 20, 2024, as well as four central enterprises including China National Petroleum Corporation, China Petroleum&Chemical Corporation, China National Chemical Corporation, and China National Chemical Engineering Corporation. As of now, all inspection teams have fully entered the stage of sinking work. In the stage of sinking work, each inspection team will go deep into the grassroots, frontline, and on-site areas based on the situation and problem clues identified in the previous stage of inspection. For the four provinces, key sinking cities (prefectures) will be inspected to understand and promote the implementation of ecological environment protection work; For the four central enterprises, key inspections will be conducted to understand the compliance of their affiliated enterprises (units) with ecological environment laws. Each inspection team has identified a number of prominent ecological and environmental issues, verified a number of formalism and bureaucratic problems such as inaction, slow action, lack of responsibility, failure to confront challenges, and even perfunctory responses and fraud. Each inspection team coordinates economic development, people's livelihood security, and ecological environment protection, adheres to the people-centered approach, continuously promotes the resolution of prominent ecological environment problems reflected by the masses, timely transfers and supervises, strengthens spot checks and verifications, conducts on-site visits, and listens to the opinions of the people face-to-face. Urge the inspected objects to accurately, scientifically, and lawfully promote border supervision and reform, respond to social concerns by solving specific ecological and environmental problems, win the trust of the people with actual rectification results, and continuously enhance the people's sense of ecological environment acquisition, happiness, and security. The relevant provinces and central enterprises attach great importance to the work of supervision and rectification, actively promoting the simultaneous supervision and rectification. The main leaders vigorously promote the work of inspection and rectification through clear requirements, on-site investigation and supervision, and holding special meetings to advance. Through the joint efforts of both parties in the inspection, a number of ecological and environmental problems around the masses have been resolved, a number of problems caused by inadequate rectification and even pollution rebound have been investigated and dealt with, and a number of ecological and environmental violations have been corrected in a timely manner. As of 20:00 on October 30th, each inspection team has received 5865 calls and letters from the public to report, accepted 4995 valid reports, and after sorting and merging duplicate reports, a total of 4464 cases have been transferred to the inspected objects; 949 cases have been completed or partially completed by the inspected objects, of which 18 have been filed and punished; 4 cases were filed for investigation; 37 party and government leaders were interviewed, and 6 party and government leaders were held accountable.
