The third draft of the Preschool Education Law will be submitted to the 12th Session of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress for deliberation. Huang Haihua, spokesman of the Legislative Affairs Committee of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, said at a press conference on November 1 that the three drafts of the draft are intended to strengthen the supervision of food safety in kindergartens and surrounding public security. Huang Haihua said that in June 2024, the 10th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress reviewed the draft preschool education law for the second time. Based on various opinions, the third draft of the draft is proposed to make the following major revisions: firstly, to clarify the establishment and improvement of a preschool education guarantee mechanism by the state, and to reduce the cost of family childcare education. Secondly, increase regulations to encourage the development and promotion of works, products, and research results related to preschool education. Thirdly, increase regulations to protect the legitimate rights and interests of preschool children, such as privacy information. Fourthly, improve the relevant regulations on the management of kindergarten teachers and staff. Fifthly, strengthen the supervision of food safety and surrounding security in kindergartens.
