Recently, the 13th China Quyi Peony Award Series was held in Nantong, Jiangsu. The China Quyi Peony Award is a national professional award for Quyi jointly organized by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the China Quyi Association, and is selected every two years. After more than 20 years of continuous development, the Peony Award has become a brilliant stage for discovering new talents in folk art and promoting the prosperity of folk art creation. In addition to the exemplary and leading nature reflected in the awards, during the award ceremony, the Chinese Quyi Association vigorously organized Quyi "Sending Laughter" and "Entering Campus" activities, and held various levels of training classes, further enhancing the social effect of Quyi art and writing vivid footnotes for "Quyi follows the times, peonies serve the people". The Peony Blossom Rap People's Voice This year's Peony Award has undergone preliminary evaluation, 4 sub regional competitions, and final evaluation. Among 465 submitted programs, 5 program awards, 6 performance awards, 4 literary awards, and 5 newcomer awards have been selected. In addition to the above-mentioned awards, in order to commend the outstanding contributions of Quyi artists to the Quyi cause, after research and decision by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the honorary titles of "China Federation of Literary and Art Circles Lifetime Achievement Award (Quyi)" are awarded to Suzhou Pingtan performer Jin Lisheng and single string performer Zhang Yunhua. Fairness and impartiality are of paramount importance in all stages of the selection process Sheng Xiaoyun, the winner of the first Peony Award and Vice Chairman of the China Quyi Artists Association, said, "High standards and strict requirements are necessary for the development of the Quyi industry to form a virtuous cycle. The Peony Award plays a guiding role in awards, constantly inspiring Quyi workers to create excellent works that closely follow the pulse of the times and the voices of rap people." The Peony Award award series is not only a grand event for Quyi, but also a festival for enthusiasts. After the award ceremony, a series of activities for the benefit of the people, including the performance of the award-winning songs of the 13th China Quyi Peony Award for "National Colors and Fragrance", the special performance of "Blooming Flowers Competition" for famous and emerging Quyi artists to send laughter, and the special performance of outstanding young Quyi talents in "Blooming Season", will be held one after another. Quyi artists will go deep into the grassroots and bring high-quality Quyi feasts to the people. In recent years, the Chinese Music Association has attached great importance to the follow-up training efforts of the Peony Award winners, as the training class helps them refuel before setting off. In 2019, the Chinese Music Association established an advanced training class for Peony Award winners. After the Peony Awards ceremony, the fifth training class was held immediately, with nearly 50 award winners and folk artists participating in the training. At the opening ceremony, Yang Fahang, Secretary of the Party Group and Vice Chairman of the China Quyi Association, encouraged everyone: "The identity of a Peony Award winner is not only a golden honor, but also represents a heavy responsibility. Everyone should study hard, think creatively, be down-to-earth, and cultivate both morality and art, taking on the important task of promoting the innovation and high-quality development of Quyi art in the new era." During the training course, experts such as Liu Xudong, Wu Xinbo, Meng Ying, Bao Yuxi, and Zhang Jingping gave lectures to the students, covering theoretical, creative, performance, communication, and other fields, helping them continuously improve their political literacy, artistic ethics, and professional qualities. Sun Mingze, the winner of this year's Peony Award Performance Award, said, "We cannot hold on to what our ancestors have left us, nor can we stop moving forward and remain stagnant. We must further immerse ourselves in life, keep up with the times, and create folk art works that are loved by the people." Shang Wenbo, the winner of this year's Peony Award Literature Award, said, "We must have firm confidence, respect the stage, strengthen communication, unity and cooperation, and work together with a sense of urgency to promote the new era of folk art to shine." During the series of activities of this year's Peony Award, the "Jiangsu Literature and Art · Famous Masters Lecture Hall" - folk art masters entered Nantong University to promote the inheritance of folk art. Jin Lisheng and Zhang Yunhua, winners of the Lifetime Achievement Award (Quyi) from the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, gave speeches to teachers and students and performed Quyi works on site, receiving enthusiastic responses. Jin Lisheng is a Suzhou Pingtan performer, a national intangible cultural heritage inheritor, and a descendant of the Suzhou Pingtan Li Zhongkang tune. In the lecture, Jin Lisheng vividly explained the artistic essence and characteristics of Suzhou Pingtan, which has a long history of over 400 years, from five aspects: "speaking, laughing, playing, singing, and performing". He also shared his more than 60 years of experience in the arts, and his insights on art, such as "being able to endure loneliness, enduring loneliness, enduring pain, enduring torture, withstanding pressure, resisting temptation, losing face, lifting spirits, and taking responsibility," deeply touched the teachers and students present. Zhang Yunhua is a single string performer and a national level inheritor of intangible cultural heritage. Her representative works such as "The Legend of Shichahai", "Rain Shelter", and "Confucius Worshiping His Teacher" have laid the foundation for the solemn, humorous, and free spirited aesthetic style of Beijing style folk art in the new era. From the history of the single string instrument, the formation of different brand songs, to the shape and cultural significance of the octagonal drum instrument, Zhang Yunhua popularized the knowledge of folk art in a simple and profound way, and combined visual materials such as Da Cha Qu "Returning to the Boat in Wind and Snow", Xiao Cha Qu "Like Snow but Not Exposed", and brand song "Rain Shelter" to guide students to appreciate their works. She also sang a segment of "Xianglin Sao" live, allowing everyone to experience the artistic charm of the representative northern music form of single string up close. It is reported that the Chinese Quyi Association has organized and carried out activities related to "Quyi Entering Schools" multiple times, with footprints covering the north and south of the country, promoting the inheritance and development of Quyi in a "subtle and silent" way.
