The Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security issued a notice on the 29th to adjust the national scholarship policies for higher education and high school, further improve the student financial aid system covering the entire school stage, and allow more students to enjoy the benefits of the financial aid policy. Specifically, in the higher education stage, increase the number of national scholarships for universities and raise the standards for scholarships and grants. Starting from 2024, the number of national scholarships for undergraduate and junior college students will be increased from 60000 to 120000 per year, and the reward standard will be raised from 8000 yuan per student per year to 10000 yuan. Starting from 2024, the number of national scholarships for graduate students will be increased from 45000 to 90000 per year. Starting from 2024, the reward standard for the National Inspirational Scholarship for undergraduate and junior college students will be increased from 5000 yuan per student per year to 6000 yuan. Starting from the autumn semester of 2024, the average national scholarship for undergraduate and vocational students will be increased from 3300 yuan per student per year to 3700 yuan. Starting from 2025, the central financial support standards for graduate academic scholarships in central universities will be raised, with master's students increasing from 8000 yuan per student to 10000 yuan per year and doctoral students increasing from 10000 yuan per student to 12000 yuan per year; Local governments can improve their financial support policies for graduate scholarships in their affiliated universities based on their actual situations. In the high school education stage, raise the national scholarship funding standards for high school and expand the coverage of national scholarships for secondary vocational schools. Starting from the spring semester of 2025, the average subsidy standard for national scholarships for regular high schools will be increased from 2000 yuan per student per year to 2300 yuan. Starting from the spring semester of 2025, eligible full-time third year students in secondary vocational schools will be included in the scope of national financial aid, and the average national financial aid standard for secondary vocational schools will be increased from 2000 yuan per student per year to 2300 yuan. The officials in charge of the relevant departments of the three departments stated that the adjustment of the student financial aid policy this time will stimulate students to study hard and devote themselves to scientific research through greater efforts to reward outstanding students and help the poor, and cover more student groups.
