The reporter learned from the National Healthcare Security Administration that since April this year, the National Healthcare Security Administration has launched a pilot project to collect traceability code information for medical insurance drugs and consumables, and has achieved significant results nationwide. At present, 31 provinces (autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government) and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps have started uploading relevant information. As of October 28th, over 3.1 billion traceability codes for drug consumables have been collected nationwide, involving nearly 300000 designated medical institutions and nearly 500000 designated retail pharmacies. The traceability code for medical insurance drugs and consumables is equivalent to the "ID card" of medical insurance drugs and consumables. Taking drugs as an example, by collecting the traceability code on the outer packaging of drugs, it is possible to know where the box of drugs was produced, where they were sold, and whether they were tampered with by drug traffickers. This truly enables the source and destination of drug consumables to be traced, which is conducive to effectively cracking down on illegal reselling, drug exchange and other fraudulent activities. At the same time, it significantly improves the accuracy of drug distribution in hospitals and pharmacies, and promotes drug safety for the people.
