On October 27th, the second World Congress of Sinologists with the theme of "Understanding Chinese Civilization and Joining Hands to Promote World Modernization" opened in Nanping City, Fujian Province. The conference was jointly organized by the China Association for International Exchange and the People's Government of Fujian Province, with more than 200 Chinese and foreign representatives from 60 countries attending. The person in charge of the Foreign Liaison Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee stated in his speech that Chinese civilization has a historical gene of valuing peace, a broad mind of inclusiveness, a value concept of building oneself and others, and a moral sentiment of the world for all. It advocates and pursues a modernization that is characterized by lasting peace, openness, inclusiveness, universal prosperity, and fairness and rationality. We are willing to strengthen exchanges and dialogues with sinologists from various countries, jointly promote international cultural exchanges and cooperation, and promote high-quality development of world Sinology research, contributing wisdom and strength to the modernization journey of all countries. The attending foreign guests expressed that Chinese civilization is a precious wealth of humanity, and are willing to actively spread Chinese culture, promote the implementation of the three major global initiatives, and work together to build a better world.
