The recently released "Survey Report on the Development Level of National Digital Literacy and Skills (2024)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Report") shows that more than 60% of Chinese citizens have primary or above digital literacy and skills, and their level of digital literacy and skills is in line with the regional economic development trend. The report is guided by the Information Technology Development Bureau of the Cyberspace Administration of China. It analyzes the overall situation, regional situation, and group situation of the development of digital literacy and skills among the entire population in China, aiming to provide reference and guidance for all sectors of society to deepen the practice and research of improving digital literacy and skills among the whole population. The report divides digital literacy and skill levels into three levels: primary, intermediate, and advanced, based on the digital cognitive understanding, application operation, thinking concepts, and other abilities demonstrated by respondents in digital life, work, study, and other scenarios. According to the report, 60.61% of adults in China possess primary or higher levels of digital literacy and skills; Among minors, 64.69% possess primary or higher levels of digital literacy and skills.
