The Ministry of Education launches the second National College Student Career Planning Competition

Recently, the Ministry of Education issued a notice to launch the second National College Student Career Planning Competition. The Second National College Student Career Planning Competition is jointly hosted by the Ministry of Education and the People's Government of Hunan Province, with the theme of "Building Dreams, Youth Aspirations in Four Directions, Planning for Sailing and Career Leading the Future". It closely focuses on the goal of "promoting learning, teaching, and employment through competition", striving to create a big classroom that strengthens life education, a big platform that promotes talent supply and demand docking, and a big market that serves graduates' employment. Through holding competitions, we will strengthen career education and employment guidance in colleges and universities, enhance college students' awareness of career planning, guide them to prepare for employment as soon as possible, open up a new world of employment with new ideas of career selection, and promote high-quality and full employment. The second competition sets up growth and employment tracks for students from ordinary universities across the country. Among them, the growth track is mainly aimed at middle and lower grade students in undergraduate and vocational colleges, examining their growth process of establishing career development concepts and setting career goals reasonably, taking continuous actions and adjusting around achieving goals, improving comprehensive quality and professional ability through learning and practice, and reflecting correct career and employment concepts. The employment track is aimed at undergraduate and junior college students who plan to apply for jobs, as well as graduate students. It tests their practical abilities in job hunting, compares them with the requirements of the target profession and position, their personal comprehensive qualities and professional abilities, and their adaptability to the needs of the job market. The competition highlights the adaptation of supply and demand and the promotion of employment orientation. Based on the professional background, target occupation, and industry of the participants, the competition venue is divided, and enterprises are invited to distribute internship or employment intentions on site to promote effective matching of talent supply and demand. The competition will be held from October 2024 to April 2025, adopting a three-level system of school competition, provincial competition, and national finals. The school competition is organized by each university, while the provincial competition is organized by various regions. The national finals are organized by the Education Department of Hunan Province, Central South University, Hunan University, and Hunan Normal University, with gold, silver, and bronze awards, as well as individual awards, local and university excellent organization awards, and excellent guidance teacher awards. The competition will start registration from October 22, 2024. Participating students can register through the National College Student Career Planning Competition platform (website: zgs. chsi. com. cn), and the registration deadline will be determined by each region according to the provincial competition arrangement. During the competition, universities in various regions will hold a series of concurrent activities such as school enterprise supply and demand matching, career experience, course teaching seminars and exchanges. During the finals, a special event called "Promoting Employment through Innovation" will also be held in Hunan. (New Society)
