Macau hosts International Forum for Young Scientists in Space Science

The International Forum of Young Scientists in Space Science was held at the Macau Science Museum from the 22nd to the 25th, attracting nearly a hundred scientists from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions, as well as the United States, the United Kingdom, France and other places to attend. Wu Ji, Chairman of the Chinese Society of Space Sciences, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony of the forum on the 23rd, expressing the hope that this forum will provide a platform for communication and cooperation, and lay a foundation for future cooperation. Zong Qiugang, Director of the Institute of Space Science at Macau University of Science and Technology, stated that Macau's first space science satellite, "Macau Science-1," has produced results in geomagnetic research and space environment monitoring. The University of Science and Technology of Macau will continue to contribute to international exchanges and cooperation in the field of space science. The subsequent forum invited presentations, covering international and domestic satellite mission plans in the field of space science, as well as the forefront, current status, and future prospects of the discipline. In the thematic forum segment, young scientists from fields such as space earth science conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on cutting-edge hotspots, development directions, and progress in related models and technologies in various fields through academic reports from seven groups. They also explored future international cooperation. The attending representatives will also visit relevant laboratories of Macau University of Science and Technology and the University of Hong Kong. This forum is the first international conference of young scientists in space science held in Macao, co sponsored by the Chinese Society for Space Science, the Macao University of Science and Technology, the National Space Science Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the University of Hong Kong and the Beijing Branch of the International Institute of Space Science.
