Xi Jinping pointed out that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Russia. Over the past 75 years, China Russia relations have gone through ups and downs, exploring the correct way for neighboring powers to coexist through "non alignment, non confrontation, and non targeting of third parties". Both sides uphold the spirit of permanent neighborly friendship, comprehensive strategic cooperation, mutual benefit and win-win cooperation, continuously deepen and expand comprehensive strategic cooperation and practical cooperation in various fields, inject strong impetus into promoting the development, revitalization and modernization of the two countries, and make important contributions to enhancing the well-being of the Chinese and Russian people and upholding international fairness and justice. At present, the world is undergoing a great change not seen in a century, with the international situation intertwined with turmoil. However, the profound friendship between China and Russia that has lasted for generations will not change, and the great power responsibility of serving the people will not change. Despite facing complex and severe external situations, the two countries are actively promoting cooperation in various fields such as trade, and large-scale cooperative projects are operating stably. The two sides should continue to promote the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" initiative and the in-depth docking of the Eurasian Economic Union, so as to provide dynamic support for the high-quality development of their respective economies.
As permanent members of the United Nations Security Council and major world powers, China and Russia need to deepen comprehensive strategic cooperation, closely communicate and coordinate within multilateral frameworks such as the United Nations and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, promote the correct view of World War II history, firmly uphold the international system with the United Nations at its core, jointly maintain global strategic stability, and uphold international fairness and justice.
Xi Jinping pointed out that the BRICS cooperation mechanism is the most important platform for solidarity and cooperation among emerging market countries and developing countries in the world today. The Chinese side highly appreciates the work done by Russia as the chair country for this BRICS summit, and looks forward to in-depth discussions with BRICS leaders on the future development of the BRICS cooperation mechanism, promoting consensus building among all parties, conveying positive signals of unity and cooperation, advancing strategic and practical cooperation in various fields of BRICS, and striving for more new opportunities for the global South.
Putin said that not long ago, we celebrated the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and China together.
