Inherit and promote the intangible cultural heritage of the Yangtze River Basin
2024-10-23
As one of the important events of the Yangtze River Culture and Art Festival, the "Splendid Yangtze River" intangible cultural heritage exhibition will kick off on October 23 in Wuhan, Hubei. More than 360 inheritors of intangible cultural heritage from 13 provinces (regions, cities) in the Yangtze River Basin and Yangtze River Economic Belt region will showcase 210 intangible cultural heritage projects for exhibition and performance, fully demonstrating the charm of intangible cultural heritage in the Yangtze River Basin and inheriting and promoting Yangtze River culture. The Yangtze River Basin is a rich area of intangible cultural heritage, with over 800 national level intangible cultural heritage representative projects and over 6000 provincial level intangible cultural heritage representative projects. Among them, Sichuan brocade, Suzhou embroidery, ceramics, lacquer ware, Paper Cuttings and other intangible cultural heritage projects are exquisite, which not only reflects the beauty of superb craftsmanship, but also contains the national spirit of hard work and progress, highlighting the concept of innovation in Chinese excellent traditional culture and the idea of all things being cultivated together. These intangible cultural heritage projects not only showcase the diversity of culture in the Yangtze River Basin, but are also an important component of Chinese civilization. Many intangible cultural heritage projects in the Yangtze River Basin have gained international recognition and influence. For example, the bronze casting technology and silk embroidery technology presented in the "Splendid Yangtze River" intangible cultural heritage exhibition activities have reached the world's advanced level, and Han embroidery has been on the Milan International Fashion Week, allowing foreigners to see the charm of Chinese culture. Protecting relevant intangible cultural heritage projects is conducive to promoting exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations, and telling the story of China to the world. The intangible cultural heritage of the Yangtze River Basin is closely related to the lives of the people. Taking the production technique of Yulu tea in Enshi, Hubei Province (as part of the "Chinese Traditional Tea Making Techniques and Related Customs" and selected as a representative work of the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity) as an example, as early as the Tang Dynasty, people used this technique to make tea, injecting a strong tea aroma into their lives. Nowadays, the tea industry developed by using Enshi Yulu production techniques has become the largest characteristic industry and enriching industry in Enshi Prefecture, Hubei Province, driving more than 800000 tea farmers to increase their income and become prosperous. Every intangible cultural heritage project in the Yangtze River Basin is irreplaceable. The protection, inheritance, and promotion of Yangtze River culture cannot be separated from the protection of intangible cultural heritage in the Yangtze River Basin. To do a good job in the protection of intangible cultural heritage in the Yangtze River Basin, we can start from the following five aspects: using the power of governance to safeguard the inheritance of intangible cultural heritage. The Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China proposed the establishment of a coordination mechanism for the protection and inheritance of cultural heritage, the establishment of a cultural heritage protection inspection system, and the promotion of systematic protection and unified supervision of cultural heritage. Each province (region, city) in the Yangtze River Basin should pay attention to strengthening the guidance of the rule of law, actively carry out relevant legislation based on their own intangible cultural heritage resources, promote the establishment and improvement of relevant laws and regulations, and quickly form a sound legal system for the protection of intangible cultural heritage. Promote the diversification of intangible cultural heritage protection entities. The protection and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage is not just the responsibility of the inheritors of intangible cultural heritage. We should establish the concept of "everyone is a inheritor of intangible cultural heritage" in society and encourage social forces to participate in the inheritance and protection of intangible cultural heritage. Each province (region, city) along the Yangtze River should vigorously carry out activities such as bringing intangible cultural heritage into schools and communities according to their own characteristics and actual situations, guide social forces to participate in intangible cultural heritage education and training, strengthen the volunteer team for intangible cultural heritage protection, encourage intangible cultural heritage related enterprises to expand their international markets, and promote the export of their products and services. Empowering intangible cultural heritage protection through technological means. The combination with technology enables intangible cultural heritage to constantly shine in modern life, presenting a new sense of the times. To promote the protection of intangible cultural heritage in the Yangtze River Basin, modern technological means, especially digital technology and artificial intelligence technology, should be fully utilized to improve the "technological content" of traditional intangible cultural heritage products. For example, in recent years, Xiang embroidery in the Yangtze River Basin has been continuously exploring effective integration with technology. Some have established Xiang embroidery cloud museums, allowing people to appreciate the beauty of Xiang embroidery with just a click of their fingertips. Some have used artificial intelligence technology to develop digital Xiang embroidery postcards, while others have developed Xiang embroidery cultural and creative derivatives such as laptops and power banks. Establish a normalized dissemination model for intangible cultural heritage. The protection of intangible cultural heritage cannot be separated from dissemination. Without dissemination, there can be no inheritance. To promote the protection of intangible cultural heritage in the Yangtze River Basin, it is necessary to continuously increase the visibility of relevant intangible cultural heritage projects, especially some niche intangible cultural heritage projects, and make the participation of the whole society in the protection of intangible cultural heritage a trend. Each province (region, city) in the Yangtze River Basin should break through the barriers of fragmentation and administrative boundaries, jointly establish special topics and columns related to intangible cultural heritage in mass media, create documentaries on intangible cultural heritage related themes, produce excellent programs related to intangible cultural heritage, continuously enrich communication methods, expand communication channels, strengthen integrated reporting of intangible cultural heritage, and promote the normalization and professionalization of intangible cultural heritage communication. Promote the deep integration of intangible cultural heritage and tourism. The Yangtze River Basin is not only rich in intangible cultural heritage resources, but also has abundant tourism resources. To strengthen the inheritance and protection of intangible cultural heritage in the Yangtze River Basin, we should seize the opportunity of cultural and tourism integration, and do a good job in the big article of "intangible cultural heritage+tourism", so that intangible cultural heritage can "integrate" and "merge" into new vitality. For example, launching characteristic tourism routes for intangible cultural heritage, establishing intangible cultural heritage research and learning experience bases, holding "intangible cultural heritage shopping festivals" and "intangible cultural heritage food festivals", and stimulating the vitality and energy of intangible cultural heritage by providing more practical and application scenarios for intangible cultural heritage.
