Why did the 'national team' end up collecting waste? On October 18th, China Resources Recycling Group Co., Ltd. was established. This is the 98th state-owned enterprise in China and the first "national team" in the resource recycling industry. Currently, China is vigorously carrying out the "Two New" campaign to accelerate the elimination of outdated equipment products. Accelerating the promotion of resource recycling and transforming waste into treasure is a key aspect. A set of data shows that in the past five years, China has generated an average of over 400 million discarded mobile phones annually; By 2023, 80 million televisions, 60 million air conditioners, and other household appliances will need to be phased out; By 2025, the expected amount of new energy vehicle power battery recycling is expected to reach 1.2 million tons... Where does the astonishing amount of waste resources flow to? How to recycle and dispose of it? These issues have attracted a lot of attention, and behind them is a trillion dollar "wind". Developing a circular economy is a major strategy for China's economic and social development. The 14th Five Year Plan for the Development of Circular Economy proposes that by 2025, the resource recycling industry system will be basically established, and the output value of the resource recycling industry will reach 5 trillion yuan. The report released by CCID Consulting shows that in 2023, the scale of China's resource recycling industry will reach 4077.44 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13.1%. Based on this calculation, to achieve the "5 trillion" target, the industrial scale still needs to maintain double-digit growth every year. Since the beginning of this year, China has successively introduced a series of policy measures, from top-level design to supporting policies, and then to forming a "national team" to accelerate the promotion of circular economy into the "fast lane". In February, the General Office of the State Council issued the "Opinions on Accelerating the Construction of a Waste Recycling System", proposing to accelerate the construction of a comprehensive, efficient, standardized and orderly waste recycling system; In March, the State Council issued the "Action Plan for Promoting Large scale Equipment Renewal and Consumer Goods Trade in", proposing the implementation of recycling and reuse actions, and promoting resource recycling enterprises to "reverse invoice" sellers of scrapped products to natural persons. The "national team" formed this time will undertake the important task of building a national and functional resource recycling and reuse platform. From a specific business perspective, it covers offline resource recycling network construction, consumer goods recycling and trade in, waste batteries, retired wind and solar power equipment recycling... At the same time, in response to the current problems of low resource output efficiency and low standardization of recycling and utilization in key industries, it is expected to further smooth the resource recycling chain and create a national and functional resource recycling and reuse platform.
