2024-10-22
The Beijing Ming Qing Archaeological Research Center was recently unveiled and established. The center is jointly established by the Archaeology Department of the Palace Museum, the Beijing Institute of Archaeology, the Yuanmingyuan Management Office in Haidian District, and the Ming Thirteen Tombs Management Center in Changping District. Through measures such as building a communication platform, promoting collaborative research, and jointly cultivating talents, the center will collaborate to carry out interdisciplinary and cross disciplinary research, and promote the excavation, protection, and revitalization of historical and cultural heritage resources from the Ming and Qing dynasties. The Beijing Ming Qing Archaeology Research Center will further consolidate its talent team, integrate research forces, achieve resource sharing and complementary advantages, promote academic exchanges, and enhance archaeological capabilities. Each unit will cooperate to establish an archaeological achievement database, relying on the pattern information of city and garden sites, as well as the architectural group form information obtained from archaeological exploration and excavation at different points within Beijing, to establish a "one map" information carrier, providing important references for archaeological, historical, and cultural heritage protection research.
