2024-10-22

The "Reproduction - Li Jiaying's New Media Art World" organized by the Macau Arts Society recently opened in Macau. The "Reproduction" exhibition showcases a total of 13 digital animations and interactive installations, leading the audience to rethink the relationship between humans and technology, tradition and modernity, as well as the role and value of art in contemporary society in a world where virtual and reality are intertwined. Director of the Tourism Bureau of the Macao SAR Government, Claudia Mo, and Director of the Publicity and Culture Department of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government of Macao, Cheng Yanxi, attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition. The opening ceremony of "Reproduction - Li Jiaying's New Media Art World". It is reported that Li Jiaying's works do not simply use new media technology, but rather use new media technology as an artistic language, integrating traditional culture and contemporary thinking into it. In her work 'The Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea', Li Jiaying cleverly combines classic Chinese mythology with the urban characteristics of Macau. The eight immortals have transformed into wandering cats who have undergone cultivation and finally achieved success, weaving through the torrent of data, symbolizing Macau's continuous pursuit of breakthroughs and development in the changing times. The works' Lotus Pond 'and' Dragon and Flower - Portuguese Brick 'showcase the artist's exploration of geometric shapes and vitality. The work features lotus flowers symbolizing Macau, dragons representing traditional Chinese culture, and typical Portuguese art style bricks as elements, endowing rational geometric objects with vitality and constructing a poetic space between virtual and reality. The exhibition "Reproduction - Li Jiaying's New Media Art World" has been sponsored by the Macau Cultural Development Fund and will end on November 15th. Art For All Society was established in Macau in 2007 as a non-profit art organization dedicated to promoting the creation and development of local artists in Macau, assisting the Macau SAR government in developing local cultural industries, and promoting the development of cultural and creative industries.
