Forbes Education Forum held at UIC to explore international education innovation in the AI era

Recently, Forbes China International Education Forum was held at the Joint International College of Beijing Normal University Hong Kong Baptist University (Beijing Normal University - Hong Kong Baptist University United International College for short in Chinese; UIC for short in English). At the forum, Professor Chen Zhi, President of Beijing Normal University - Hong Kong Baptist University United International College, delivered a keynote speech on "Beijing Normal University - Hong Kong Baptist University United International College and Liberal Education", which explored the trends and challenges of future education from the perspective of globalization. He emphasized the importance of liberal arts education, believing that in the era of AI, the concept of liberal arts education is even more important, and shared UIC's practice and innovation in liberal arts education and international education. This forum also held three roundtable discussions with different themes, focusing on "New Opportunities and Challenges for Cross border Education Cooperation", "How International Schools Empower Students for Career Success in the Era of Chinese Enterprises Going Global", and "Global Citizenship: Cultivating Cross Cultural Communication Skills on the Basis of Mother Tongue Culture". In the round table sharing, Zhou Yongming, vice president (academic) of Beishi Hong Kong Baptist University and executive director of the Institute of Higher Studies, stressed that in the era of AI, students' main task will no longer be to acquire knowledge and skills, but to learn how to use AI technology to create value for society. He believes that the development of AI technology will alleviate the task of students acquiring knowledge, allowing them to focus more on innovation and value creation. He used "overjoyed" to describe the challenges and opportunities faced by Beijing Normal University - Hong Kong Baptist University United International College in the AI era.
