Supreme Procuratorate: Cancel all unnecessary, inappropriate, and unreasonable assessments

2024-10-17

On October 15th and 16th, the Supreme People's Procuratorate held special meetings of the (expanded) Procuratorial Committee and the Party Group to analyze and judge the quality and efficiency of the handling of cases by the national procuratorial organs in the first three quarters of 2024. It reported on the cases that did not meet the quality assessment standards of the national procuratorial organs since 2019, and studied measures to strengthen and improve procuratorial management and reduce the burden on grassroots. The meeting decided to cancel all unnecessary, inappropriate, and unreasonable assessments of procuratorial organs at all levels, especially grassroots procuratorial organs, no longer implement the evaluation index system for procuratorial business, no longer set various evaluation indicators such as notification values, and no longer rank and report business data from various regions. We will effectively and truly shift procuratorial management from simple data management to more emphasis on business management, case management, and quality management, and to analyze and judge key case types, key case areas, and important business situations. We will organically combine macro case quality and effectiveness analysis with micro case quality evaluation, guide procuratorial organs at all levels and the vast number of procuratorial personnel to establish and practice the correct political performance concept, further focus on legal supervision and main business, and return to the source of high-quality and efficient performance of duties and case handling, Further implement and improve the judicial responsibility system, focus attention and main energy on handling every case and every aspect of the case with high quality and efficiency, and make unremitting efforts towards the direction of "striving to make the people feel fairness and justice in every judicial case".
