According to the National Home Appliance Trade in Data Platform of the Ministry of Commerce, as of October 15th, 20.667 million consumers have applied for and 10.134 million consumers have purchased 14.624 million units of eight major categories of home appliances, enjoying 13.17 billion yuan in central subsidies and driving sales of 69.09 billion yuan. In August of this year, the Ministry of Commerce and four other departments issued a notice on further improving the work of exchanging old appliances for new ones, providing subsidies to consumers for purchasing eight types of household appliances with energy efficiency or water efficiency standards of level 2 or above. At present, among the 8 major categories of household appliances that require trade in, sales of Level 1 energy-efficient products account for over 90%. On the basis of clarifying the subsidy standards for 8 types of household appliances, many regions have independently expanded the subsidy categories for household appliances based on residents' consumption habits and market conditions, with a focus on green and intelligent development. More than 20 provinces, including Hubei and Chongqing, have included water purifiers, floor cleaning robots, and other products in their subsidy scope.
