The press conference of the 6th World Buddhist Forum was held on the 14th in Ningbo, Zhejiang. The responsible persons of the China Buddhist Association and the Zhejiang Organizing Committee Office of the 6th World Buddhist Forum introduced the relevant situation of the forum. It is reported that the World Buddhist Forum is the largest and most influential international Buddhist multilateral exchange and dialogue mechanism initiated and hosted by China, and has been successfully held for five sessions so far. The 6th World Buddhist Forum will be held in Ningbo, Zhejiang from October 15th to 17th. Buddhist figures, experts, scholars, and guest representatives from 72 countries and regions around the world will attend the forum. The forum is hosted by the Buddhist Association of China and the Chinese Association for Religious and Cultural Exchange, and organized by the Zhejiang Organizing Committee of the 6th World Buddhist Forum. With the theme of "Walking Together with the Same Aspiration, Harmony and Coexistence", it aims to showcase the cognitive consensus and practical advocacy of the Buddhist community in responding to global challenges in the context of the accelerated evolution of the world's unprecedented great changes. It promotes equal treatment, harmonious coexistence, and exchange and mutual learning among different civilizations and beliefs, and contributes the wisdom and strength of Buddhism to promoting world peace, enhancing human well-being, and building a community with a shared future for mankind. This forum consists of the opening ceremony, main forum, 7 sub forums, new media forum, television forum, closing ceremony and other main activities, as well as prayer ceremonies, Buddhist culture themed exhibitions, etc. The sub forums will focus on topics such as the inclusive wisdom, spiritual connotation, Dharma lineage inheritance, collection of classics, social responsibility, cultural arts, the thoughts and connotations of human Buddhism, the Middle Way ideology, and equal wisdom of Buddhism. They will deeply explore the essence, ideological connotation, and contemporary value of Buddhist culture, fully promote and showcase the status of religious freedom in China and the achievements of Chinese Buddhist cultural development, and enhance exchanges and cooperation among Buddhist, academic, cultural, and other groups and individuals from all walks of life around the world.
