In front of the Haepel hydrogen refueling demonstration station located in Daxing District, Beijing, fuel cell vehicles are lined up one after another, waiting for hydrogen to be filled into the onboard hydrogen storage tank through the hydrogen refueling machine. On the 13th, the reporter followed the "High Quality Development Research Tour" Beijing themed interview activity and entered the Beijing Daxing International Hydrogen Energy Demonstration Zone to explore how Beijing Daxing is building a "benchmark hydrogen zone, green hydrogen zone, and global hydrogen zone". It is reported that the predecessor of Daxing Hydrogen International Demonstration Zone was Beijing Weikawei Automotive Parts Co., Ltd., which mainly produces automotive parts and decorative components. It is a general manufacturing enterprise. The original land carrying industry has problems such as outdated production lines, old factory warehouses, low land utilization rates, poor industrial agglomeration effects, and insignificant social benefits, which do not conform to the strategic positioning of the capital. After the land is reclaimed, Daxing District will implement demolition, relocation, transformation and upgrading, and ultimately determine the development direction of hydrogen energy industry, relying on relevant land plots to create an international hydrogen energy demonstration zone. Xiang Yankuan, Deputy Director of the Economic and Information Technology Bureau of Daxing District, Beijing, introduced that the construction of the demonstration zone was launched in August 2020. Relying on the advantages of Beijing Tsinghua Industrial Development and Research Institute, the northern part of the demonstration zone was completed and put into operation in November 2021, covering an area of 6 hectares and a building area of 54000 square meters. It includes the world's largest daily hydrogen refueling station, the first hydrogen energy exchange center in the Beijing Tianjin Hebei region, and an international hydrogen energy incubator, attracting a group of leading enterprises, research and development institutions, and association alliances to gather and build a "3+N" hydrogen energy industry ecosystem supported by hydrogen refueling demonstration stations, experience exhibition halls, science and technology parks, industry funds, enterprise alliances, special policies, training bases, etc. Among them, the Haepel hydrogen refueling station covers an area of about 6670 square meters, with a maximum daily hydrogen refueling capacity of 4.8 tons, which can meet the hydrogen demand of 800 fuel cell vehicles. How can demonstration zones promote technological innovation and achievement transformation? Xiang Yankuan said that the demonstration zone will organically combine "production, education, research, and application", with a total of 28 cooperative research institutes and colleges, and 6 strategic agreements signed. Introduce industry leading organizations such as Zhongguancun Hydrogen Energy Alliance and Beijing Hydrogen Standards Committee, carry out international cooperation with international green hydrogen organizations, build an academician and expert service platform, and actively build a high-quality innovative development industry environment. According to data, as of now, there are 228 hydrogen energy enterprises in Daxing District, Beijing, forming a "4+8+N" hydrogen energy enterprise cultivation and development system led by four leading enterprises: National Hydrogen Technology, Yihuatong, Meijin Hydrogen Energy, and Haideli Sen, and eight potential enterprises including Hydrogen Innovation Energy, Qingchi Technology, and Haideli Li Zi. The core technology covers the entire hydrogen energy industry chain, and Daxing Hydrogen Energy has become the core pivot for the coordinated development of the Beijing Tianjin Hebei hydrogen energy industry. In the future, Daxing District of Beijing will rely on the existing hydrogen energy industry foundation to accelerate the construction of world-class hydrogen energy application model rooms, the main battlefield for core technology breakthroughs, the leading area for efficient industrial collaboration, and a demonstration area with international influence, focusing on building a "benchmark hydrogen area, green hydrogen area, and global hydrogen area".
