The 8th Cross Strait and Hong Kong Macao Nutrition Science Conference opened in Xi'an

On October 12th, the 8th Cross Strait and Hong Kong Macao Nutrition Science Conference opened in Xi'an. This conference is hosted by the Chinese Nutrition Society, organized by the Shaanxi Nutrition Society, the School of Public Health at Xi'an Jiaotong University, the Global Health Research Institute at Xi'an Jiaotong University, and the Obesity Prevention and Control Branch of the Chinese Nutrition Society. It is also co organized by the Hong Kong Nutrition Society, the Macau Nutrition Society, and the Taiwan Nutrition Society. More than 200 experts and scholars from both sides of the Taiwan Strait and Hong Kong and Macao regions gathered together to discuss the cutting-edge developments in the field of nutrition science and jointly promote the development of nutrition science. The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Professor Ma Aiguo, Executive Vice Chairman of the Chinese Nutrition Society. Leaders and experts from the China Association for Science and Technology, China Nutrition Society, National Food Safety Risk Assessment Center, Shaanxi Provincial Health Commission, Shaanxi Provincial Association for Science and Technology, Shaanxi Nutrition Society, Xi'an Jiaotong University, and others attended the opening ceremony. Yang Yuexin, Chairman of the Chinese Nutrition Society, Zhang Yufeng, Second level Inspector of the Shaanxi Provincial Health Commission, and Li Zhao'e, Executive Vice Chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial Association for Science and Technology, delivered speeches. Yang Yuexin stated in her speech that the Cross Strait and Hong Kong Macau Nutrition Science Conference has developed into an important platform for academic exchanges among nutrition and related professionals in the Chinese world. It has made positive contributions to promoting the improvement of global Chinese nutrition research level, sharing successful experiences in the application of nutrition science across the Taiwan Strait and Hong Kong Macau, and improving the physical fitness and nutritional health level of Chinese people. The theme of this conference is "Cooperation and Development: Nutrition is an Important Foundation for Whole Life Cycle Health", focusing on research in the fields of special medical food and clinical nutrition, innovative development of nutrition, fatty acids and health, and the development of young nutrition technology talents across the Taiwan Strait and Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan. The aim is to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the field of nutrition science between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait and Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, and jointly promote the prosperity and development of the nutrition science industry. At the meeting, Yang Yuexin, Chairman of the Chinese Nutrition Society, Ding Haoen, Chairman of the Hong Kong Nutrition Society, You Shurui, Chairman of the Macau Nutrition Society, Zhao Zhenrui, Chairman of the Taiwan Nutrition Society, and Zhang Ruijuan, Chairman of the Shaanxi Nutrition Society, jointly launched the 8th Cross Strait and Hong Kong Macao Nutrition Science Conference. At the launch ceremony of the 8th Cross Strait and Hong Kong Macau Nutrition Science Conference, Dr. Xu Jiao from the National Food Safety Risk Assessment Center, Professor You Shurui from the Macau Nutrition Society, Professor Zhao Zhenrui from the Taiwan Nutrition Society, Professor Ding Haoen from the Hong Kong Nutrition Society, and Professor Wang Youfa from the Global Health Research Institute of Xi'an Jiaotong University shared their views on nutrition policies, dietary patterns and health, metabolic rate and weight loss strategies, and prevention and control of obesity diseases in their keynote speeches. The conference lasted for two days, and in addition to the keynote speech, there were also four special forums, namely the Special Medical Food and Clinical Nutrition Sub Forum, the Nutrition Innovation Development Forum, the Fatty Acid and Health Forum, and the Cross Strait and Hong Kong Macao Young Scientists Forum, as well as academic visits. The conference will present multiple exciting academic reports covering the latest research achievements and application practices in the field of nutrition science, providing attendees with a rich academic feast. The convening of this conference will further strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the field of nutrition science between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, promote the prosperous development of nutrition science, and make greater contributions to improving human dietary nutrition and quality of life. At the opening ceremony of the conference, there was also a signing ceremony for the framework cooperation between the Chinese Nutrition Society and the Shaanxi Provincial Association for Science and Technology, as well as the appointment ceremony for the second batch of chief experts from the Chinese Nutrition Society.
