According to the "Bulletin", as of the end of 2023, the number of people participating in basic pension insurance nationwide will be 1066.43 million, an increase of 13.36 million from the end of the previous year. The number of people participating in the basic old-age insurance for urban employees nationwide was 521.21 million, an increase of 17.66 million from the end of the previous year. The number of people participating in the basic pension insurance for enterprise employees nationwide was 460.44 million, an increase of 16.42 million from the end of the previous year. The number of people participating in the basic old-age insurance for urban and rural residents nationwide is 545.22 million, of which 172.68 million actually received benefits. According to the Bulletin, as of the end of 2023, a total of 3476 convenient living circles have been built in 150 pilot areas across the country, involving 788000 commercial outlets such as elderly care and community catering, serving approximately 64.55 million residents. As of the end of 2023, there are a total of 404000 various types of elderly care institutions and facilities in China, with a total of 8.23 million elderly care beds. The Bulletin shows that the training of elderly care service talents has been strengthened. In terms of higher education, by 2023, 34 new majors such as nursing and elderly care service management will be established in universities across the country. As of the end of 2023, more than 770 majors such as nursing and elderly care service management will be opened in universities across the country. In terms of vocational education, the current directory of vocational education majors includes 15 secondary vocational, vocational college, and vocational undergraduate related majors, such as smart health elderly care services and elderly care services and management. By 2023, there will be over 1700 secondary vocational related majors and over 1600 vocational college related majors. In terms of continuing education, 33 universities including the Open University of China will register 34 majors in smart health and elderly care services and management in 2023. The "Bulletin" shows that in addressing the difficulties faced by elderly people in using intelligent technology, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security continues to optimize the national social insurance benefit qualification certification service, and solves the certification problem for elderly people traveling to and from their insured or residential areas. As of the end of 2023, the National Social Insurance Public Service Platform has opened 91 national and cross regional social insurance public services, with a total of 1.488 billion visits that year. The electronic social security card has launched the "family service" function, with a total of over 72.58 million users. By issuing pensions through social security cards, we support elderly people to enjoy services such as elderly care, medical treatment, medication purchase, transportation, and elderly canteens through social security cards (including electronic social security cards).
