On October 11th local time, Premier Li Qiang met with General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and President Thongloun at the Presidential Office in Laos.
Li Qiang first conveyed the warm greetings of General Secretary Xi Jinping and the President to General Secretary Tonglun and the President, and congratulated Laos on successfully hosting the series of East Asian Cooperation Leaders' Meetings. Li Qiang stated that socialist comrades from China and Laos have become brothers. Over the past 60 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the relationship between the two parties and countries has withstood the test of international changes and continuously radiated new vitality. General Secretary Xi Jinping maintains close strategic communication with General Secretary Tonglun, guiding the construction of a community with a shared future for China and Laos in the new era. China has always placed the development of relations with Laos at a special important position in China's peripheral diplomacy, and is willing to work with Laos to follow the strategic guidance of the top leaders of both parties and countries, deepen political mutual trust, strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation, and work together to build a common destiny of China and Laos with high standards, quality and level, so as to bring more benefits to the two peoples.
Li Qiang pointed out that China firmly supports Laos in pursuing a socialist path that is in line with its national conditions, and is willing to continue to firmly support each other on issues involving each other's core interests and major concerns. The two sides should speed up the implementation of the new action plan for building a community of common destiny between China and Laos, continue to promote the docking of the "the Belt and Road" initiative with Laos's strategy of "turning a land locked country into a land linked country", expand practical cooperation in trade, investment, production capacity, power, minerals and other fields, further tap the potential, give play to the driving effect of the China Laos railway, and promote the all-round cooperation between China and Laos to achieve more visible results. China is willing to expand cultural, tourism, education and other cultural exchanges and cooperation with Laos, continuously enhance mutual understanding and friendship, and lay a more solid public opinion foundation for deepening cooperation between the two countries.
Tong Lun stated that under the strong leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core, China has achieved historic development achievements that have attracted worldwide attention, and its international influence continues to rise. Lao Fang highly praises this. The Lao Party, government, and people have always regarded China as an inseparable good neighbor, friend, comrade, and partner.
