The 9th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference opened in Beijing on the morning of the 9th. The main agenda was to thoroughly study and implement the important speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping at the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and to discuss politics around "promoting cultural confidence and self strengthening, and forging a new brilliance of socialist culture". Wang Huning, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, attended the opening ceremony.
Li Shulei, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Minister of the Propaganda Department, was invited to attend the opening ceremony and give a report, listening to the opinions and suggestions of the members of the CPPCC Standing Committee on site. He stated that since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, has attached great importance to cultural construction and promoted historic achievements and changes in propaganda, ideological and cultural work.   We must adhere to the comprehensive leadership of the Party in propaganda, ideological and cultural work, vigorously implement various tasks of cultural construction, constantly stimulate the vitality of cultural innovation and creation of the whole nation, and solidly promote cultural prosperity and build a cultural power with a new atmosphere and new achievements.
Shi Taifeng, member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, presided over the opening ceremony. He stated that it is a major political task to study, promote, and implement the important speech of General Secretary Xi Jinping at the 75th anniversary celebration of the establishment of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, deeply understand the decisive significance of the "two consolidations", enhance the "four consciousnesses", strengthen the "four confidences", and achieve the "two safeguards", fully leverage the role of the People's Political Consultative Conference as a specialized consultative body, and unite efforts to promote Chinese style modernization. We must adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping's cultural ideology, conduct in-depth consultations and discussions on promoting cultural confidence and self-improvement, and create new brilliance in socialist culture, actively provide suggestions and contributions, and contribute wisdom and strength to building a socialist cultural power.
The opening meeting heard the reports of the relevant special committees of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) on carrying out research on "striving to continue the Chinese context to promote the creative transformation and innovative development of Chinese excellent traditional culture", "comprehensively promoting the construction of international and regional science and technology innovation centers", "improving the foreign-related legal service mechanism to promote the high-quality development of the the Belt and Road", "developing characteristic industries to promote high-quality development in ethnic areas", and "promoting the research and interpretation of the origin of Chinese civilization".
The meeting of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference will last for two and a half days. The members of the Standing Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference will conduct group discussions and engage in joint consultations with the political consultative conferences of Henan Province, Guangdong Province, and Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region through video conferencing on relevant topics.
