The Forum on China Africa Cooperation has become an important platform for friendly dialogue, practical cooperation, and promoting common development between Africa and China. In September this year, African and Chinese leaders met again in Beijing after six years to attend the Beijing summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation of the Forum on China Africa Cooperation in 2024. The overall positioning of Africa China relations has been elevated to an all-weather community with a shared future for Africa and China in the new era. Both sides have implemented the Ten Partnership Actions to jointly promote modernization between Africa and China, which will not only enhance the well-being of the African and Chinese people, but also contribute to the bright prospects of world peace, security, prosperity, and progress. Since the reform and opening up, hundreds of millions of people in China have been lifted out of poverty, contributing over 70% to global poverty reduction. China has achieved the poverty reduction goal of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development 10 years ahead of schedule. China actively shares development opportunities with other countries through the joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" initiative and the global development initiative. African countries actively participate in the high-quality joint construction of the "the Belt and Road" and cooperate with China in infrastructure construction, trade, finance, cultural exchanges and other aspects. The cooperation concept and plan originating from China have brought new development momentum to African countries, and African countries are gaining inspiration from China's development experience. China has assisted African countries in building railways, highways, ports, schools, hospitals, talent training centers, etc., making important contributions to the modernization of African countries. As of the end of 2023, China's stock of direct investment in Africa exceeds 40 billion US dollars, making it one of the main sources of foreign investment in Africa. In recent years, Kenya China relations have developed rapidly and cooperation in various fields has continued to deepen. In 2017, Kenya China relations were upgraded to a comprehensive strategic partnership. The cooperation between the two sides in infrastructure construction, trade, investment and other fields continues to deepen. In the field of infrastructure, Kenya and China have cooperated to construct key projects such as the Mombasa Nairobi Railway, Nairobi Expressway, and Sikka Expressway. In the field of trade, Kenya's exports to China continue to grow, especially as more and more Kenyan specialty products are favored by Chinese consumers. In 2023, Kenya's exports of avocados to China increased by 624% year-on-year. This has brought benefits to Kenyan farmers and is conducive to promoting poverty reduction in Kenya. In the field of humanities education, exchanges and cooperation between Kenya and China have become more frequent, and more and more young Kenyans choose to receive higher education in China. Looking ahead, Kenya hopes to further strengthen cooperation with China in areas such as manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare, digital connectivity, and energy transformation. Kenya hopes to learn from China's successful experience in poverty reduction, green and low-carbon development, and other areas. The Beijing summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation of the Forum on China Africa Cooperation in 2024 has opened up broader prospects for Kenya China cooperation and Africa China cooperation, and injected new impetus into the common development and prosperity of Africa and China.
