The overall scale of the cultural industry is steadily expanding, and the strategy of cultural digitization is being solidly promoted. The report shows that the reform and opening up brought opportunities for the development of the cultural industry. In 1979, the first music teahouse was opened at the Oriental Hotel in Guangzhou, which became a symbol of the rise of the cultural market in New China. The concept of the cultural industry gradually took shape and developed rapidly. In 2003, the pilot work of cultural system reform was launched, and the development of China's cultural industry gradually entered a new stage of comprehensive improvement from the initial stage of exploration, starting, and cultivation. The total economic output of the cultural industry maintained rapid growth. In 2004, the added value of cultural and related industries in China was 344 billion yuan, increasing to 5378.2 billion yuan in 2022, a growth of 14.6 times; The proportion of added value of cultural and related industries to GDP has increased from 2.13% in 2004 to 4.46% in 2022; The annual average contribution rate of the cultural industry to GDP growth from 2004 to 2022 is 4.8%. The coordinated development of the cultural industry is accelerating, and the industrial layout is continuously optimized. The cultural service industry has become the main force driving the development of the cultural industry. In 2012, the added value of cultural services accounted for 53.3% of the added value of cultural and related industries, and reached 65.4% in 2022. From 2012 to 2022, the contribution rate of cultural services to the added value of cultural and related industries was 71.5%. The report of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposed the implementation of the national cultural digitization strategy, promoting the deep integration of culture and technology, and further strengthening the strategic support role of technological innovation in the development of the cultural industry. The research and experimental development (RD) funding for cultural manufacturing enterprises above designated size in China has increased from 26.7 billion yuan in 2012 to 57.7 billion yuan in 2022, with an average annual growth rate of 8.0%; The proportion of operating income of cultural manufacturing enterprises above designated size has increased from 0.86% in 2012 to 1.33% in 2022. With the steady advancement of the national cultural digitization strategy, cultural digitization practices have achieved fruitful results. In 2023, the actual investment of the national level radio and television listening industry base (park) was 57.98 billion yuan, and the operating income was 165.83 billion yuan, an increase of 81.5% and 88.1% respectively compared to 2020, with an average annual growth rate of 22.0% and 23.4%.
