On September 25th, 28 departments, organizations, and enterprises including the State Council Food Safety Office and the Central Office for Spiritual Civilization Construction launched the 2024 National Food Safety Awareness Week in Beijing. The theme of the event is "Integrity, Frugality, and Shared Food Safety". The activity proposes to vigorously promote the cultural concept of "integrity". Food producers and operators should always put integrity management in the first place, strictly implement their main responsibility for food safety, and make integrity the basic creed and conscious action of the food industry; Continuously advocating the good trend of "frugality", thoroughly implementing the "Anti Food Waste Law of the People's Republic of China", continuously improving incentive and restraint mechanisms, strengthening publicity and guidance, and promoting frugality and avoiding extravagance as a civilized trend in the whole society; Actively creating a "shared" food safety atmosphere, party committees and governments at all levels, regulatory departments, food enterprises, industry associations, news media, and consumers should actively implement their responsibilities, strictly supervise and enforce laws, operate with integrity and compliance, strengthen industry self-discipline, carry out public opinion supervision, enhance scientific literacy, and form a strong atmosphere of shared governance and sharing. It is reported that during the publicity week, relevant departments will hold nearly 40 "departmental theme days" activities, covering training on standard regulations, moral integrity culture education, scientific knowledge promotion and popularization, and exhibition of achievements in cracking down on illegal activities. At the same time, relevant news organizations and associations will hold events such as the China Food Safety Forum, China Food Education Conference, China Food Consumers Conference, Catering Consumption Innovation and Development Promotion Conference, College Students' Food Safety and Nutrition China Tour, and the "Food Safety Enters Hundred Cities and Ten Thousand Stores" publicity campaign.
