Loyally guarding this national flag is the wish of three generations of the Qingguo family

Qingguo's father passed away early, and his uncle has always taken good care of him. Uncle has admired soldiers since he was young, dreaming of one day joining the army. Unexpectedly, that year my grandfather fell seriously ill, and the burden of the family suddenly fell on my uncle. With his diligence, kindness, and perseverance, Uncle Da later joined the Communist Party and was elected as the village branch secretary by the villagers. During this period, he successively sent three younger brothers, two sons, and three nephews to the army. Uncle Da often said to Qingguo, "You must study hard and take the college entrance exam, and strive to find a good job in the future." In fact, through correspondence with several uncles and the speech and behavior of several cousins visiting home, Qingguo has long had a longing for the military camp. In his senior year of high school, several close classmates planned to enlist in the military, and Qingguo was also moved. He still remembers that after dinner that day, under the wutong tree in the yard, when he said his idea of joining the army, the elder uncle said nothing. The next day at noon, Qingguo was in class when his uncle suddenly appeared outside the classroom. He lightly knocked on the door, gesturing for Qingguo to come out. I have registered for you, "Uncle hurriedly left. On the eve of enlisting, Qingguo sat with his uncle for a long time. Uncle opened his heart to Qingguo: "Your father left early, and your mother has suffered a lot of hardships alone in recent years. It's not easy, and your health is not good either. When I said you were going to college to find a job, I actually wanted to keep you by your mother's side..." Finally, Uncle changed the subject and said, "You're really lucky to be able to join the army in Beijing. When you're successful, I'll go to Beijing to see you and also go to Tiananmen Square to see the raising of the national flag." Later, Qingguo was always busy with training, taking exams, and participating in peacekeeping. Every year, he invites his uncle to come to Beijing, but he always says that the village is busy with work and cannot escape from it. Qingguo knew that his uncle was actually afraid of causing him trouble. After Uncle entrusted the village affairs to the young people, he suddenly fell ill. That day, my uncle hurriedly pulled Qingguo home and said, 'When I'm well, I'll go to Beijing to see the national flag raised...' Later, Qingguo realized that going to Beijing to see the national flag raised was not just my uncle's wish. When my grandfather participated in the Korean War, there was a whole class agreement to go to Beijing together after returning to China. But after that battle, only Grandpa was left in the whole class... Before this year's National Day holiday, Qingguo gave a vacation report early. As long as one thinks of the scene of the sacred five-star red flag rising slowly in Tiananmen Square, Qingguo's blood cannot help but boil. Loyally guarding this national flag is not only one's duty and mission, but also the wish of elders such as grandparents and uncles. (New Society)
