2024-09-25
Recently, a blogger posted a video on social media exposing the discovery of multiple spy cameras in several homestays in Xinhua District, Shijiazhuang City. The blogger also stated that during the filming of the video, they were surrounded and beaten by homestay owners and others. In this regard, Xinhua Branch of Shijiazhuang Public Security Bureau of Hebei Province issued a police report on the evening of 24th through the official WeChat official account, saying that on September 23, 2024, a netizen released a video showing that he had a conflict with home stay owners and others in the process of detecting and searching for the camera equipment in an apartment in Xinhua District. The video reflects a case being investigated by the Xinhua Branch of Shijiazhuang Public Security Bureau. On September 15, 2024, at 3:02 pm and 8:14 pm, the bureau received reports from the public that pinhole cameras were found in a certain apartment room. The bureau immediately dispatched police to the scene for disposal, seized the pinhole camera on site, and immediately initiated an investigation to collect evidence. After working for several days, suspect Wang Mouhua (male, 27 years old, from Dingzhou City), Wang Moujie (male, 27 years old, from Dingzhou City) and Li Mou (male, 24 years old, from Dingzhou City) who are suspected of illegally using special equipment for eavesdropping and photographing will be arrested on September 24, 2024 and criminal coercive measures will be taken according to law. After interrogation, the three individuals did not know the homestay owner and confessed to the crime of using their accommodation as an opportunity to install online shopping surveillance devices in the guest room for illegal gain. After investigation, the apartment rooms are mainly operated as homestays. On the same day, the video publisher used detection equipment to search for the spy device in the apartment. The homestay owner believed that the video publisher's behavior affected their business, which led to a conflict. During this period, there were extreme behaviors such as pushing and insulting. After the police arrived, they took both parties to the police station for questioning. Subsequently, other homestay owners of the apartment gradually arrived at the entrance of the police station to inquire about the situation. When the video publisher left the police station, some homestay owners present tried to block and deflate the tires of their vehicles. After work, both sides left around 4am the next day. At present, the police have imposed public security penalties on Li Muru (male, 54 years old, from Shenze County), Zhang Mouhua (male, 32 years old, from Yangyuan County), and Li Mouping (female, 39 years old, from Pingshan County) who are suspected of disrupting public order.
