On the 23rd, the "Loyalty and Righteousness for Thousands of Years" Cross Strait Guan Gong Culture Painting and Calligraphy Exhibition was held at the Guandi Ancestral Temple in Jiezhou, Yuncheng, Shanxi. 207 paintings and calligraphy works from both sides of the Taiwan Strait participated in the exhibition. The Jiezhou Guandi Ancestral Temple is located in Jiezhou Town, Yuncheng City. It is the earliest, largest, highest established, and most well preserved Guandi temple in China and is known as the "ancestor of Guandi temples". Zhang Rui, Deputy Mayor of Yuncheng Municipal People's Government, stated that the purpose of this calligraphy and painting exhibition is to showcase the unique charm of Guan Gong culture through calligraphy and painting art forms, using calligraphy and painting as a medium. It aims to further promote Guan Gong culture, inherit the spirit of loyalty and righteousness, and at the same time, unite the consensus of the people and share the friendship between the two sides of the Taiwan Strait. On that day, 207 calligraphy and painting works were exhibited one by one under the stone galleries on both sides of the Meridian Gate of the Guandi Ancestral Temple in Jiezhou. Among them, Cai Shanyu from Taiwan used his calligraphy work "Luo Guanzhong's Praise of Guan Yu's Poetry" to showcase Guan Gong's heroic image and loyalty spirit; Yang Wenjun from Guizhou painted Guan Gong in the style of mountains, with one side realistic and the other freehand, and calligraphy in the middle. One painting, "Loyalty and Righteousness for Thousands of Years," attracted the public to stop and appreciate. A total of 1883 works were received in this calligraphy and painting exhibition. After strict initial evaluation, re evaluation, and final evaluation, 207 works were finally selected for exhibition. Chen Jie, Chairman of the Yuncheng Municipal Political Consultative Conference, introduced that this year's calligraphy and painting exhibition highlights the element of "youth" and sets up the "New Talent Award" for the first time, striving to promote exchanges, integration and communication between young people from both sides of the Taiwan Strait, injecting more youthful energy into the "One Family Across the Taiwan Strait". For many years, based on profound historical and cultural resources, the local area has adhered to using Guan Gong culture as a link and Hanmo Danqing as a medium to strengthen cross-strait interaction and exchanges. The Cross Strait Guan Gong Cultural Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition has become an important platform for artists from both sides of the Taiwan Strait to exchange skills and emotions, and an important window to showcase the common roots and blood ties of compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
