The organizer stated that at this forum, experts, scholars, and industry representatives gathered together to discuss and exchange ideas on copyright legislation and policies in the digital economy and AI era, copyright application and protection in related industries, and collective management of copyright to promote high-quality development of the copyright industry. When it comes to topics such as copyright application and protection in the digital economy era, Sun Yue, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the China Copyright Association, pointed out that while new technologies are promoting the rapid development of the digital copyright industry, they are also bringing unprecedented challenges to the copyright system. In the face of these challenges, it is necessary to adhere to the principle of symbiosis and win-win with new technologies, and explore new strategies for copyright protection and application that are suitable for the digital economy era. Professor Lai Xiaopeng, Director of the Intellectual Property Rights Protection Assistance Research and Service Center at China University of Political Science and Law, believes that the extensive authorization caused by corpus input and algorithm training has greatly increased the usage, users, and types of works, increasing the complexity of copyright management. Lai Xiaopeng stated that an automatic tracking and dynamic digital trading platform should be built to solidify the usage process of works, monitor the usage of works in real time, and ensure the protection of the interests of copyright owners. Regarding the issue of generative AI music copyright, Zhu Yanzheng, Deputy Director General of the China Music Copyright Association, stated that through the collective management organization of copyright, authorization or remuneration can be uniformly issued to users, and corresponding music copyright owners can be regularly allocated, which helps to safeguard the copyright rights of creators and promote the healthy and sustainable development of related industries. According to the organizer, through the forum discussion, participants realized the importance of strengthening the use and protection of copyright in the digital economy era.
