On the afternoon of the 23rd, the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference held a retreat for members of the 2024 annual chairman's meeting. Wang Huning, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, presided over and delivered a speech. He stated that we must take the in-depth study and implementation of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the 75th anniversary celebration of the founding of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference as a major political task of the People's Political Consultative Conference. We must combine Xi Jinping's implementation of the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee, deeply understand the decisive significance of the "two consolidations", resolutely uphold the "two safeguards", adhere to the organic combination of Party leadership, united front, and consultative democracy, continue to uphold the system of the People's Political Consultative Conference, develop the cause of the People's Political Consultative Conference, and give full play to its political advantages.
Wang Huning stated that it is necessary to deeply study and understand the significant meaning and rich connotation of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech, fully, accurately, and comprehensively implement General Secretary Xi Jinping's important ideas on strengthening and improving the work of the People's Political Consultative Conference, firmly grasp the correct direction of fulfilling duties, continuously strengthen the political responsibility of fulfilling duties, and promote the high-quality development of the People's Political Consultative Conference in the new era and new journey. We need to deeply study and understand General Secretary Xi Jinping's new deployment and requirements for the comprehensive development of consultative democracy, and fully implement them in the political consultation, democratic supervision, and participation in politics of the People's Political Consultative Conference, so as to better play the role of the People's Political Consultative Conference as a specialized consultative body.
