The 136th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) Promotion Conference was held on the 16th in Rome, the capital of Italy. More than 60 political and business figures from China and Italy attended the meeting to jointly explore cooperation and development opportunities between the two countries' enterprises in the field of economy and trade. Su Bin, Deputy Director of China International Trade Center, delivered a speech at the promotion conference, saying that China and Italy have a long history of exchanges, and in recent years, the high-level interaction between the two countries has been close, and bilateral economic and trade cooperation has maintained a positive development momentum. The Canton Fair is an important window for China's opening up to the outside world and an important platform for international trade cooperation. The 136th Canton Fair will continue to improve the quality of participating enterprises, expand online platform functions, optimize exhibition services, further enhance the experience and sense of gain of attending merchants, and let this globally renowned "golden signboard" continue to shine with new era style. Mauro Pellegrini, Marketing Director of the Italian Business Federation, stated that China is an important trading partner of Italy, and the Canton Fair has the potential to help more "Made in Italy" open up the Chinese market. Xu Yuhong, Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Italy, stated that China and Italy are important trading partners of each other, and he hopes that Italian enterprises will continue to make good use of the Canton Fair as an important platform to tap into the trade potential of traditional fields such as agriculture, food, medicine, and high-end consumer goods, and find new growth points in emerging fields such as intelligent manufacturing and green low-carbon trade, enriching the connotation of the economic and trade relations between the two countries through practical and mutually beneficial cooperation. The 136th Canton Fair will open in Guangzhou on October 15th this year, bringing together approximately 45000 enterprises to participate both online and offline, including over 8000 national high-tech enterprises.
