According to the relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, in August 2022, the number of mobile Internet of Things terminal users in China exceeded the number of mobile phone users for the first time, becoming the first major economy in the world to achieve "Internet of Things Superman". At the same time, the high-quality development of China's mobile Internet of Things is facing problems such as network coverage optimization, breakthroughs in high-end industries, deepening of industry applications, and enhancement of connectivity value. The Notice is based on the development pace of the mobile Internet of Things industry and the current status of mobile Internet of Things applications in various industries, and clarifies the development goals of mobile Internet of Things: by 2027, the comprehensive ecosystem of mobile Internet of Things based on 4G and 5G high and low matching, ubiquitous intelligence, and security and reliability will be further improved; 5G NB IoT (Narrowband Internet of Things) network achieves deep coverage of key scenarios; 5G RedCap (lightweight) achieves nationwide coverage of county-level and above cities, and extends coverage to key towns and rural areas; The number of mobile IoT terminal connections is striving to exceed 3.6 billion, with 4G/5G IoT terminal connections accounting for 95%; Support the construction of more than 5 mobile IoT industry clusters nationwide and create more than 10 mobile IoT industry demonstration bases; Cultivate a batch of application fields with billions of connections and create a batch of application fields with millions of connections.
